Airfix WW2 US Paratroops Part 4

Summary

Paint and base Airfix WW2 U.S. Paratroops set A02711V. A quick WIP update early-ish February 2023.

The basics:

1. DONE – Unboxing and admiring
2. DONE – Prepping figures by quick wash to removed any factory residue and removing mold lines
3. DONE – Prime in acrylic base coat
4. WIP – Paint the figures – as of early February 2023
5. Base the figures
6. Seal the figures
7. Admire artwork

So now we are getting to homestretch. I’ve tried to put as much detail as I could to these sculpts, but I realize there is not enough crispness in the details to stress about it. That, I took a couple of weeks off to paint and rearrange my crafting room.

I consider (minus the basing), these models are now “tabletop” ready. We are definitely close towards this initial project’s completion.

I was STILL thinking to add mussete bags/backpacks, helmet mounted first aid pouches and grenades (all made from air dry clay) and glued to the models. What do you think?

Again, I am using a cork stopper as a model holder with a piece of poster tack . You can also re-use the poster tack for the next mini. A color wheel is sometimes useful when doing color paint projects.
